Puppet Building 101!

Another class I was taking, Puppet Building 101, just ended and I completed my first puppet! For four weeks, instructor Jonathan Little (of Little's Creatures) led us on a fun and amazing journey into puppets. Everyone made their own puppet based off of the same template that he provided (lots of sewing :-) - but with different colored fur and accessories to work with, each finished character was as unique as their maker. Here's my little guy...calling him Muppy for now. :-)

Looking forward to the next class where we get to practice making them come to life!

Sculpture Class: Relief

I've been taking a sculpture class in town for fun and to explore different ways of working in clay.

Fairy Godmother

The Fairy Godmother is an old sculpt that I have finally completed.

I have a few more completed dolls that haven't been posted yet.Working on creating separate pages for each completed work.

For now, my art doll gallery page houses all of my old WIPs and completed works. Hope to update soon!

Springtime Beauty

Just in time for Spring! I bought these lovely little Cream Beauty crocuses last fall. My first time planting crocuses and, these being one of the earlier varieties, they are already popping up all over the garden.

I couldn't resist bringing one in to enjoy. (Lucky too, because we got another big snowfall the next day!)

What a wonderful surprise to find the delicate yellow blooms, each opening to a pretty saffron center, in the morning sun. I love watching new shoots spring up! Each time you return, it's grown just a bit more.

I potted this one together with some Minnow daffodil bulbs (about to come up), covered with moss and they were ready for gifting!

The perfect size for a fairy garden!

I Love Pinterest!

Shabby Chic...cupcakes?

How did I not discover this before??  Guess I've been under a rock for a while!

Spring is coming, now it's time for my hibernation to end. I just joined Pinterest and spent over an hour pinning things - how fun!
